What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?
TUSQ
TUSQ nuts have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. TUSQ nuts are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body.

It fit perfectly in a mighty mite neck which pretty much requires one to replace the factory nut. Now I’m debating replacing nuts on my Carvin and Seagull.

I put the Model 5043-00 Nut R12 in my Indonesian made G & L S - 500 Tribute and it fitted perfectly matching the flat bottom of the nut slot and the 12” radius of the S - 500’s neck. Didn’t have to file the base of the nut down as it was at the correct height installed. Sanded each end of the nut to match the width of the guitar’s neck. No more tuning issues. Can use vibrato and stay in tune. Open chords in tune. Great product! 100% satisfied. Will use Graphtech nuts again when needed. Best upgrade to midrange guitar, especially if you have tuning issues.

Awesome. Fitted to my PRS John Mayer American Silver Sky. I love this guitar, but even after numerous hours of "playing it in", the strings constantly stuck in the factory standard nut, so the guitar was always going out of tune. Lubricating the nut made no difference, so I took the plunge and fitted a TUSQ XL nut. It was easy to fit and it TRANSFORMED my guitar. It stays in tune and that is SO satisfying. TUSQ XL saved what is now my favorite guitar.
