Description:

The PT-5042-00 is a great option to upgrade the nut on your Fender style electric guitar with a 12" radius (or a guitar with similar specs).

It has a flat bottom and is pre-slotted for a quick and simple install.

The PT-5042-00 is also available in a convenient 10 pack (LT-5042-10).

Black TUSQ XL is designed to boost guitar tone and performance. This precision engineered nut is made with a specially formulated material which couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and brings out the hidden harmonics and richness in every note. It is based on the highly resonant TUSQ man made ivory, but is impregnated with PTFE to improve the tuning performance of the guitar.

    Black tusk nut

The installation was very simple. It was a bit tight so I sanded it a little. I did not have to touch the string slots. It was perfect. I could tell the difference right away while tuning. Very smooth! This was a good upgrade for my telecaster. Thanks!

    MIM Strat improvement

I had a nagging buzz from the "B" string that I could not track down along with what seemed a misalignment of the high "E" being really close to the edge of the fretboard. I had seen positive comments about Graphtech's TUSQ so I wanted to give it a try. I installed it the weekend after it arrived. Took several trial and error attempts at getting the nut sanded properly to get a tight fit and correct height but once done it was worth it. Solved both problems and tuning seems to be better. Will likely do the same for my Gretsch to help with tuning changes from Bigsby.
