What are the String Saver and TUSQ Materials in Saddles?

String Saver Saddles

String Saver saddles are made with a unique combination of materials made to enhance tone and dramatically reduce string breakage. Each saddle is permanently lubricated.

Lubrication formula in String Savers eases the grip between the saddle and string, spreading the stress over a greater portion of the string, just enough to drastically reduce string breakage.

Our patented String Saver Originals are made entirely of our String Saver material and give you a very balanced tone across the spectrum. People who were breaking one or two strings a night have contacted us after using String Savers and are amazed that they go weeks and months without breaking a string!

String Saver Classics are made with an extremely high quality steel saddle with our patented String Saver material inserted in the string ramp. String Saver Classics preserve the classic look of a metal saddles while freeing you from the problem of breaking strings.

TUSQ Saddles

TUSQ Saddles have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. TUSQ saddles are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body.

    Brilliant as usual

These are the 4th set of Saddles I’ve brought and they are just awesome, it really does bring an extra quality to the tone and intonation of the guitar.

I will always recommend these saddles for any guitar upgrade.

    B bender

Saddles are 100%, regretfully is was an experiment on one of my B benders, so technically out of spec, so to speak, I don't believe I get a lot of life. Great company, super delivery.

    Great improvement to my Telecaster

I bought these for my Schecter PT Special. The factory installed brass saddles were fine. If you want to Top-Load your strings through the bridge rather than the body, however, I found the strings tended to move and bunch up near the barrel height screws after big string bends. This resulted in affecting my intonation and breaking strings. The barrels on these Graphtech saddles have notched string guides for the strings to sit in preventing the problem I was having. I am also pleasantly surprised with the resulting tone! Installation was easy after clarification from Graphtech support and a Youtube video by Dylan Talks Tone where he explains about the order of the barrels when installing compensated saddles in Telecasters.

    Over the Barrel!

First off no intructions on what order these Compensated barrel saddles go in and no TUSQ sticker for my guitar case. When installing these saddles make sure the G is facing the bridge and the high and low E or facing the neck. I had to inlarge the adjustment screw holes to accept the new screws on my 50s vib Squier Telecaster. Other then that they where super easy to install. No need to take your strings off just lower the saddle till flush with the bridge. Theses saddles do as Advertised. No sudden slip of the wound strings at all whem tunning. I then set the saddles to the Proper distance from the 12th threat. Intonation was easy unlike slotted barrels that never Quite make it to the mark. If you own a Telly get these right away
