Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. I didn't buy that one I bought the Black Tusq XL to replace the plastic nut on my TELE it cost $16.00 and still didn't fix the problem the new nut still vibrates in the slots on in B & E string causing a undesirable sound effect a small peace of tape in the slots fix it but at that price i should not have to do that. I should have kept the old one!!

Exactly the size needed for an oddball neck! Needed this on an Epiphone 5102 (only made 2 years). This fit perfectly. Had to sand it down to get the correct string height (as expected) and it fit! So far no adjustments needed for bedding the strings!

After measuring the nut width I decided that this model would be the closest fit. In fact it was an almost perfect fit with only a little bit of shaving of the bottom to lower it a bit. Very pleased.
