    ResoMax Archtop Bridge Standard Height

I really love this bridge! I put it on my Gretsch Streamliner hollow body archtop guitar. While I haven't tried the guitar plugged in yet, the overall acoustic tone and volume have definitely been enhanced for my ears. Just as importantly to me, the smooth shape lines of the bridge are very comfortable under my strumming/picking hand. The sharp edges of the tuneamatic style individual saddle pieces this bridge replaced could be uncomfortable at times, even after filing the points on them. Because the legs of the ResoMax bridge bass were nearly identical in width, from the neck side to the tailpiece side, as the legs on the original Gretsch base, my painter's tape markers for bridge location worked beautifully to help me locate the new bridge. I only needed to slide the treble side slightly toward the neck to successfully intonate all strings. This bridge is also very attractive. It has the look of ebony and looks great against the natural finish of my guitar.

I did, however, need to make some minor alterations in radius. The GraphTech website does not mention anything about radius for this bridge. I measured it at 15". Since my Gretsch fretboard has a 12" radius, I needed to file the string notches a bit deeper on the 1st, 2nd, 5th, & 6th strings.

I'm completely satisfied with this product!

    ResoMax Archtop Bridge

Overall, I really like & recommend these bridges (I have 2). Really warm sounding & improved the definition on a very light laminated archtop with sympathetic resonance issues. The saddle quickly conformed to a sloping top that required extensive lapping of an ebony saddle. Intonation is impressively accurate too. I give them 4 stars because both bridges “ping” on the D & G strings & make tuning difficult. Yes, I have tried polishing/reshaping the string slots to no avail. Not insurmountable, I just lube the slots with graphite, adjust my tuning technique & let the strings eventually solve the problem.

    Not quite right

I put this in my 1937 Gibson L-37. It looks cool, finish is nice - but it really doesn’t match the contour of the guitar and there are gaps between the base of the bridge and the body. It sounds different- I’m not sure if it’s better than the stock bridge, maybe a bit more brighter , perhaps a bit more sustain . having said that I put the stickb bridge back on - I wish it fit the guitars body profile better but the gaps better the bridge and the body made it a no go for me

    Nailed it.

I am old enough to be skeptical about an archtop bridge made out of man made mystery material. This ResoMax product looks and feels right, fit and finish are perfect, and it sounds great. I will do this every time moving forward. Great product.
