What are the String Saver and TUSQ Materials in Saddles?

String Saver Saddles

String Saver saddles are made with a unique combination of materials made to enhance tone and dramatically reduce string breakage. Each saddle is permanently lubricated.

Lubrication formula in String Savers eases the grip between the saddle and string, spreading the stress over a greater portion of the string, just enough to drastically reduce string breakage.

Our patented String Saver Originals are made entirely of our String Saver material and give you a very balanced tone across the spectrum. People who were breaking one or two strings a night have contacted us after using String Savers and are amazed that they go weeks and months without breaking a string!

String Saver Classics are made with an extremely high quality steel saddle with our patented String Saver material inserted in the string ramp. String Saver Classics preserve the classic look of a metal saddles while freeing you from the problem of breaking strings.

TUSQ Saddles

TUSQ Saddles have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. TUSQ saddles are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body.

    Yamaha APX 600

Only been playing for a few months, I figured I needed to keep my 69 year old brain working! I bought a Yamaha APX 600 and decided to make it a bit better. I first got the neck corrected. Then I scooted the bridge so the strings have more contact and less stress. Then installed Tusq Nut, Saddle and pins. It definetly plays and sounds better to these untrained ears!

    love it and questions

i shaved it down and it is great.

just curious, did yall make any of those those pre sized(height) for godin? the one i took out of the godin had the little holes from the mold like the one you sent me.

do you make pre sized saddles for different manufacturers? i have an ovation and an alvarez that i need saddles for and the saddles are way narrower than the slots in them

    Perfect

A perfect replacement for the original basic saddle on my 33-year old Seagull S6.

It's a good, if tight, fit but no adjustments were necessary.

I don't know if it's my imagination but the guitar seems to produce a clearer, fuller sound. So, all round, I'm very happy with it.

    Great bridges

Definitely sounds different than bone. For some guitars, this works better than bone for me. I always keep these bridges around and experiment in any newly acquired guitar I get. It can be a big improvement.
