The type of pick you use affects the tone you create. That's why we created TUSQ picks, the world's first and only pick with a built-in tone. By formulating various composite materials, we created a whole new class of picks with highly resonant characteristics that produce three distinctive tones: Bright, Warm, and Deep.

TUSQ picks have a high stiffness-to-thickness ratio, like real tortoise shells but with a harmonic content, only TUSQ can deliver. Experience a smooth, balanced feel and a clean articulate attack. With TUSQ in your pick, a great tone is in your hands. Now you can choose your gauge, your shape, and now your tone.

What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?

TUSQ

TUSQ nuts have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. TUSQ nuts are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body.

Best for Acoustic Guitars.

TUSQ XL and Black TUSQ XL

TUSQ XL and Black TUSQ XL nuts are designed to boost guitar tone and performance. These precision-engineered nuts are made with a specially formulated material that couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and brings out the hidden harmonics and richness in every note. It is based on the highly resonant TUSQ man-made ivory but is permanently lubricated to improve the tuning performance of the guitar.

Best for Electric Guitars and BASS.

    Teardrop picks!!!!

The TUSQ teardrop picks are great. I love the compact feel for soloing and comping, also comfortable for strumming. I have been using the warm sounding picks for awhile and wanted to check out the bright ones. They excel at strumming while the warm is better for soloing to my ears. Both great.

That's awesome Dan! Love how you've explored both the warm and bright tones - you really nailed the differences between them. It's so cool that you've found the bright picks excel for strumming while the warm ones are your go-to for soloing. For those that play really hard, check out the Deep Tone charcoal colored picks. Thanks for the fantastic review! Dave D

Hi Scott, Sorry to hear the TUSQ teardrop picks were too small for you. We do have two larger sizes... Standard and Bi-angle that would probably work better for you. https://graphtech.com/pages/tusq-picks

I did not like them !

The pick was too small as far as I can tell there was not an option for size .. I picked the thickness I use but the pick still felt somewhat flimsy… I won’t be using this pick .
