What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?
TUSQ
TUSQ nuts have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. Bought this as a replacement for a factory P Bass nut that was slotted incorrectly (too shallow on two strings).
I don't own luthier (nut) files, so a pre-slotted nut was the best option. Had to sand from the bottom up to get the proper height.

The nut fits well on Tokai Legacy bass made in China with minor sanding to reduce the thickness to 3.0km. The only issue I found is that the string slot at E , A and D is a bit wider causing the string move sideways. My string gauge is 45-100 and the nut slot is for string gauge 50-105. I wish that Graptech provides the string gauge size in their nut descriptions. Well, this will be a spare nut if I upsize my string gauge.
