Installed on a Dingwall NG3 bass

I became interested in these the moment I heard about them from a builder friend. I currently have 4 basses, each using Hipshot Ultralite tuners. The Hipshots have been reliable and are each about 12% lighter (Hipshot with mounting collar=50.9 g, Ratio with mounting collar=57.8 g), but the concept of the Ratio tuners is so logical and compelling that I had to buy and try a set. Dingwall use a 2+3 headstock config and the Ratios are available in this-actually just about any- headstock configuration. The tuners were well packed. Fit and finish is top notch. Installation was extremely easy- they retrofitted perfectly. The hole in the post which receives the string end is less than half the depth of the Hipshot so I trimmed each string as I restrung the bass. I have to say that in use, the Ratios are fantastic and exactly as advertised-each string tunes very similarly now, all strings responding smoothly and gradually to adjustments rather than the lower strings jumping pitch with the tiniest turn of the tuner (which has always frustrated me). They are incredibly accurate and I now will gladly convert my Modulus and Sadowsky basses to use these amazing tuners as budget allows. The small weight differential isn't noticeable at all on the NG3, and they have made this already magnificent bass into an even better instrument. I can't speak to the longevity of use with them-yet- but they feel totally solid, precise and pro. Graphtech has a history of making very high quality products,…

    Amazing improvement

My bass has become in a new one. The tuner isn`t mad anymore, not even when tuning the B-string. And the sound is now more defined, clear. My bass: Cort Artisan B5 (early 90`s).
