SCIENCE BEHIND RATIO:

RATIO® patented gear technology
RATIO® - Calibrated Machine Heads incorporate different string gauges into the tuning equation.

From Low E to High E 39:1, 24:1, 20:1, 35:1, 20:1, 12:1.

We balanced the gear ratios to each string simplifying the tuning process.

With RATIO®, a half turn is a semi-tone!

Every string reacts the same to any tuning adjustment. Predictable, precise tuning, on every string.

RATIO Machine Heads explanation video

Description:

The PRL-9721 is a right-handed set of Locking RATIO® Calibrated Machine Heads for electric guitar that use 6-in-line tuners with staggered posts (eliminates the need for a string tree).

It has a two pin casing that can be used as is, or with our Patented InvisoMatch Mounting Plates [opens in new tab].

4 different sets of InvisoMatch mounting plates in brushed aluminum are included to make installation on most guitars fast and accurate by using your existing screw mounting holes.

Excellent tuners, possibly the best on the market right now - if you like easily and precisely staying in tune

I had previously upgraded my stock tuners on my Tele to locking Fender tuners. Decent enough hardware but there was a small amount of mechanical slop in the gears. Not a lot, but some. The gear ratio meant it was slow to get it precisely in tune.

It's perfectly doable to go down and then tune up to pitch to keep tension on the string, but doing that is slow because the imprecise gearing and mechanical slop means you have to either take a few tweaks, or else slowly creep up to not overshoot. I use a strobe tuner and play clean chordal tones so being slightly out of tune is noticeable.

The new Ratio tuners are noticeably more consistent and its much faster to hit exact tune in one twist. No more overshoot or creeping up to tune. Good stuff. Works just as advertised.

    All Graph Tech Acoustasonic Strat

These tuners (and a tusq tree) completed the upgrade to all Graph Tech hardware on my new Acoustasonic Strat. These guitars ship with Graph Tech tusq saddles and nuts but have regular Fender tuners. I installed the tuners yesterday and am very happy with how they work, sound (more sustain) and stay in tune. This is my first experience with the ratio tuners and I really like the difference they make on tuning, especially the "G" string. For the final touch, I swapped out the metal string tree with a Graph Tech tusq tree. I will be ordering ratio tuners for my other guitars now.

    Love these tuners

These tuners are fantastic. My Squier finally stays in tune. I will be replacing tuners on a Les Paul and an SG, I will definitely be using Graph Tech Ratio Tuners !
