RATIO Machine Heads explanation video

The PRL-9721 is a right-handed set of Locking RATIO® Calibrated Machine Heads for electric guitar that use 6-in-line tuners with staggered posts (eliminates the need for a string tree).

It has a two pin casing that can be used as is, or with our Patented InvisoMatch Mounting Plates [opens in new tab].

4 different sets of InvisoMatch mounting plates in brushed aluminum are included to make installation on most guitars fast and accurate by using your existing screw mounting holes.

    Beautiful, precise mechanism

The machine heads are absolutely flawless visually. My neck is still in production so at this point I can only comment on how they look out of the box and how smooth the mechanism seems.

    Ratio’s are the best.

I put them on all my keepers. They really make tuning easier for all tunings. I tune by ear when I practice it’s so natural, and I never forget where I’m at.

    These machine heads rule!

Had to do a little modifying but they were worth it!

Excellent tuners, possibly the best on the market right now - if you like easily and precisely staying in tune

I had previously upgraded my stock tuners on my Tele to locking Fender tuners. Decent enough hardware but there was a small amount of mechanical slop in the gears. Not a lot, but some. The gear ratio meant it was slow to get it precisely in tune.

It's perfectly doable to go down and then tune up to pitch to keep tension on the string, but doing that is slow because the imprecise gearing and mechanical slop means you have to either take a few tweaks, or else slowly creep up to not overshoot. I use a strobe tuner and play clean chordal tones so being slightly out of tune is noticeable.

The new Ratio tuners are noticeably more consistent and its much faster to hit exact tune in one twist. No more overshoot or creeping up to tune. Good stuff. Works just as advertised.
