TUSQ Standard Pick mixed 6 Pack
TUSQ Standard Pick mixed 6 Pack
The PQP-0010-ST is 6 pack of TUSQ Standard-shaped picks.
They come in various gauges: 0.68mm, 0.88mm, and 1.00mm thickness.
They also come in various tones: Bright (white color), Warm (vintage cream color), and Deep (gray color).
The type of pick you use affects the tone you create. That's why we created TUSQ picks, the world's first and only pick with a built-in tone. By formulating various composite materials, we created a new class of picks with highly resonant characteristics that produce three distinctive tones: Bright, Warm, and Deep.
TUSQ picks have a high stiffness-to-thickness ratio, like real tortoise shells but with a harmonic content, only TUSQ can deliver. Experience a smooth, balanced feel and a clean articulate attack. With TUSQ in your pick, a great tone is in your hands. Now you can choose your gauge, your shape, and now your tone.

What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?
TUSQ nuts have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top. TUSQ nuts are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body.
Best for Acoustic Guitars.
TUSQ XL and Black TUSQ XL
TUSQ XL and Black TUSQ XL nuts are designed to boost guitar tone and performance. These precision-engineered nuts are made with a specially formulated material that couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and brings out the hidden harmonics and richness in every note. It is based on the highly resonant TUSQ man-made ivory but is impregnated with PTFE to improve the tuning performance of the guitar.
Best for Electric Guitars and BASS.

I had been alternating between a Dunlop Tortex and their gator grip around the 1.0 range (.96 for gator or 1.0 tortex) and both the light and dark Tusq 1.0s have now replaced them as my go tos. Comfortable to hold - even though I typically don't care for the "grippy" picks - and the sound is quite great.
I used to use the tortex for a bit more warmth/roundness and the gator for a brighter pluckier attack and now I swapped the dark for the warmth and the white for the bright/plucky sounds.
I think the middle ground yellow is a solid backup if I did need to just have one (or if I lose the others) but since I can go to either extreme with the dark and light I prefer to just do that.

These are very interesting with regard to the different harmonics you can select. I like the heavier gauge is myself. I just personal preference, but you could keep several different pics and match them several different guitars. Very cool.

If you don't know which TUSQ pick is right for you or your guitars, this is the way to go. The mixed pack let's you find the sound and feel you want.
As for the picks, they have a great impact on the tone and the raised lettering keeps them from sliding around.
But what I also liked is that they don't go all flimsy after a little bit of use. Consistency both in sound and feel.
They are perfect for my playing. These are the only picks I will use from now on.

Don't care for the embossed lettering, but very nice otherwise. Surprisingly rigid material. They don't seem to have as much deflection or sound variance over the thickness range as typical picks.
