2017 is a wrap! It’s time to take a look back at what the year had to offer...in the online guitar world.
We’re revisiting the top five most popular guitar videos from 2017 to re-live some strum-worthy moments together.1) ASAL KAU BAHAGIA | FINGERSTYLE GUITAR
Igor Presnyakov first studied classical music at an academy and would eventually graduate as both a guitarist and a conductor for ensembles. His unique acoustic guitar-style is influenced by various musical genres from Reggae, Rock and Roll, R&B, Country-Western, Jazz and Heavy Metal. Igor also rarely sings lyrics to any song he covers, and instead skillfully translates them into a guitar melody, preferring to have his instrument sing the words. Talk about #goals.2) TOP 25 BADASS GUITAR RIFFS | THROUGH THE YEARS
Paul Davids, a Dutch guitarist, teacher, and YouTuber, picks up his Haar Telecaster and plays a selection of cool guitar riffs that have come up through the years. Have a listen and see what you think.3) EVERY GUITAR STORE GUITARIST
You know that guy who walks into the guitar store? Yeah, that one. Or how about the other guy? The one who’s always doing that annoying thing…
A hilarious skit about different people who frequent guitar stores.4) MARK KNOPFLER ON GUITARS
In this clip taken from the “Soundbreaking” documentary made in 2016, we see Mark Knopfler share some insights about playing guitar - in the warm, down-to-earth way so characteristic of him.5) TOY BASS GUITAR SOLO
Spurred by a fan’s comment that said, “Very impressive, but what can you do with a toy bass?”, Italian YouTuber Davie504 (known for his funky guitar experiments) picked up a bass guitar toy and tried to see what kind of magic he could draw out of it. Apparently, the only thing the toy had in common with an actual bass was that it also had four strings. But if you haven’t seen this video already, it’s worth a watch! Will it impress you?
