What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?

TUSQ

TUSQ nuts have a rich tone without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain) throughout each piece, hampering the consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top.     Great products!

    I love the 12-string nut, and in the past I’ve used Tusk B-compensated bridges & 6-string slotted nuts, & everything has been GREAT! Thanx everybody at Graphtech!

    Upgrades to an Epiphone j200-12

    This is the single best upgrade I could have made. Coupled with the tusq bridge it turned an ok-ish guitar into a MainStage player

    Nice quality

    A 12-string nut is not an easy thing to make. Each slot needs to be the correct height for that string thickness and the spacing between each pair must be just right for playability. This nut was exactly right out of the package. Nice job.

    Great product

    Great material - hard but not too hard to sand. It measures 1 mm thinner than the original 50 year-old nut, but with a touch of stain on the headstock it isn't noticeable.

    The slots were all pretty much the right width for my string guage, with only one needing some emlarging.

    The sustain when playing loud chords is very impressive. New round wound strings sound even newer with it! Definitely a brighter tone and greater resonance overall. Now I want to upgrade the nut and bridge saddle on my clsssical guitar!
