What material is String Saver made out of?
String Saver is made from a proprietary material which is precision engineered under high pressure and heat. It is impregnated with PTFE throughout so it will reduce the friction between the saddles and the strings. It is specifically formulated to deliver the right frequencies with the optimum transfer rate to the top of your guitar every time. Because of the way String Saver is made, it is a consistent material that is rich in tone and harmonic content.
Will the PTFE wear off the saddles?
PTFE is impregnated throughout our saddles, so its lubricating properties will never wear out.
What is the difference between String Saver Saddles and TUSQ saddles?
The major difference is that String Savers are impregnated with PTFE. Since PTFE is 500% slipperier than graphite it eases the grip of the saddle on the string, virtually eliminating string breakage. You will also notice a slight mid-range boost over TUSQ's slightly brighter sound.
What is the difference between String Saver Originals and String Saver Classics?
String Saver Originals are made completely from our String Saver material where as String Saver Classics are a steel saddle with a small insert of the String Saver material where the string hits the saddle. String Saver Classics will retain the look and sound of your steel saddle and give you the performance of our String Saver Originals.
What if the strings start to dig into the saddle?
If you’re experiencing any kind of binding, you can easily fold a piece of 200 Grit sand paper and sand the notch off. Again, being a consistent material you can file/sand the saddle and you will still be working with the same quality material.
Can I modify String Saver Originals for my guitar?
Due to the consistency of our String Saver Originals, it is extremely easy to work with. You can easily modify it with fine grit sandpaper or other commonly used shaping tools. If we make a saddle that is close to what you need and you want to make the saddles slightly smaller, just sand each side slightly with some fine grit sandpaper.
How do I know what saddle to use for my Tune-o-Matic bridge?
The best way to find what saddle will work on your bridge, check all the markings form the underside of your bridge and see our fit chart (below) for the saddle that will fit. If your bridge is not listed we do not have a saddle that will work.
How do I know what saddle will fit my Strat or Tele style bridge?
The best way to determine what saddle you would need is to measure the E to E spacing of your current guitar. As well as to choose the design - if it offset intonation screw or centered one. Moreover you can measure the width of one of your current saddles and check our dimensions on a product page to see what saddle to buy.

To find the correct parts for your bridge you need to match to identifying bridgestamp (on the bottom) with a String Saver from our sizingchart.
Matching a saddle set from a bridge stamp is truly the only way tofind the correct part as the dimensions of one set to another differ in tinyfractions and are crucial to their function (shoulder height, center of hole toshoulder, thickness, overall height, screw hole size, screw thread, etc..).
