What is the Difference in TUSQ Materials?

    Stays in tune so much better

    I replaced the nut on my Ibanez AS73 semi hollow body and the difference is amazing. I did have to sand the nut to fit it in the same slot and also made the slots where the strings sit larger, just because the sting gauge I use is 10-52. I consider this fairly minor though. After not playing it for a week or so, I picked it up and it was perfectly in-tune still. That is an achievement for this guitar and it is a now a joy to play and resonates so much more. This is a very inexpensive upgrade compared to others but one that I will be making on all of my future guitars. I am really blown away by how much better the guitar is now.

    Perfect fit (well, just a tiny bit of sanding...)

    The Tusq XL was a just-about perfect fit in my Firefly FLSP. I did have to sand it down a little to get it to the right height, but of course that was the guitar's issue. The quality of the nut was WAY better than I expected, and I can actually tell a difference in sound and sustain with this nut. If I ever have another guitar that needs a nut replacement, I'll definitely get another, and recommend others as well!

    Epiphone Les Paul Standard

    Drop in replacement for my Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul. I cut the nut a lot a little too short and needed a replacement. There are a few that look the same and have very similar dimensions.
